Press Release: Interim – Safety Service Director

Date:            January 1, 2020

Contact:        Mayor Mike Snider

Topic:  Search for permanent Safety Service Director underway; Interim-Safety Service Director appointed

With the recent announcement of the departure of current Port Clinton Safety-Service Director Olen Martin the City is conducting a national search for his replacement.

Mayor Mike Snider announced Wednesday that current Street Department Supervisor Tracy Colston has agreed to accept the position on an interim basis.  “Tracy has sat in this chair before.  He brings a great deal of knowledge and understanding of City operations and has a good understanding of my goals and desire for progress in Port Clinton.  There are many moving parts to this process, and I’m very thankful that Tracy has accepted this opportunity all while continuing in his role as Street Department Supervisor.”

A six member search committee has been organized to find the next SSD.  Comprised of three City Department Supervisors and community leaders the goal of this group is to find the absolute best possible person for the position to help take us to where we all want to be as a community.  Making up this group are Lisa Monak – City Tax Commissioner, Julie Frattaroli – City Water Department Supervisor, David Bacak – Waste Water Department Supervisor, Nikki Adams – President of Main Street Port Clinton & the Chamber of Commerce, Jim Lehman – Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church and Mayor Mike Snider.

Resumes will be accepted until Noon on Friday, January 31, 2020. They may be mailed to Port Clinton City Hall (1868 E. Perry Street, Port Clinton, OH 43452) or e-mailed to pcadmin@portclinton-oh.gov.  Job duties and responsibilities as well as qualifications have been posted on the City’s website www.portclinton.com
